How cool would it be to find one of these in the dusty corner of a thrift store???

The Playhouse Lobby Card
Cute lobby card for The Playhouse. Not in the film, this shot is quite effective nonetheless (be sure to read the sign on the left).

The General Poster
Any Keaton fan will know this is a poster for The General, but can anyone translate for us? My digging turned up the Zulu language or "fridge on the machine". Uh... I don't think so.

Seven Chances Poster
Nice German poster for Seven Chances. Although do you notice anything amiss? I don't think Buster wore his porkpie hat in this one. And in case you're German is a little rusty, the tagline translates to "The man with the 1,000 brides."

Allez Oop Poster
A cute poster for one of Buster's talkies, Allez Oop, which featured his Spite Marriage co-star (and long time girlfriend) Dorothy Sebastian.

Sherlock Jr. Ad
Not sure if this is a poster or a magazine ad; looks more like an ad to me. At any rate, it's pretty fun.

Another Hard Luck Card
Another lobby card for Hard Luck. I had never seen this one before. Once again this is a publicity shot; this scene is not in the film.

Hard Luck Lobby Card
Typical lobby card of the era for Buster's short film, Hard Luck. The actress ready to take a dive is Virginia Fox.

Moonshine Lobby Card
Lobby card for the short film Moonshine. This apparently was just a publicity still as no scene like this appears in the film. That is Buster on the roof by the way.

The Laws Of Hospitality
Yeah-- if the post title confused you, you're not alone. That is the literal translation of the poster title below which is in French.
Considering the film's plot, that actually is a pretty good title, don't you think? And just in case you don't know, the English title is Our Hospitality.

Der Cowboy Poster
A German poster for Go West in the style of yesterday's poster. The statement at the bottom left translates to "They tearfully laugh at the saddest cowboy in the world." If you think of "saddest" as in "not too adept" then yeah, they are right, but I have a feeling they mean "sad" literally due to the Great Stone Face mystique.

Seven Chances Lobby Card
Today we have a lobby card for Buster's 1925 film Seven Chances. I think there was a little artistic license used as the women pictured don't really look like the actresses in the film.

The Playhouse Lobby Card
If you've seen The Playhouse, you will understand this image. If not, you are probably thinking, "What the heck?!" And if not-- go watch it!

The Cook Poster
So here we are in August. I thought this month I would share some interesting and maybe "new to you" posters and lobby cards for Buster movies that I've come across on the internet. Some of them are pretty darn cool. Case in point:
A Swedish poster for The Cook.
